Climatic
Gibraltar Tour

Overview

The Climatic Tour is very popular among visitors that have a whole day free as this has a duration of approximately 6 to 7 hours long. It is one of the most wholesome tours of Gibraltar as you will be able to see the vast majority of Gibraltar’s historical places, you will travel in time with Gibraltar’s rich Heritage and embrace Gibraltar’s culture as you visit each of Gibraltar’s Attractions while glazing at the stunning views from the various viewpoints of the Rock of Gibraltar.

This Climatic Gibraltar Tour will take you to visit an impressive historical piece of military artillery – The 100 Ton Gun. The popular Gibraltar attraction 100 Ton Gun was designed and built by Sir W C Armstrong in the 1870s. Only four units of this gun were built, but only two remain existent. It was part of a series of guns that were installed along the coast of Gibraltar to protect the British naval base from potential attacks.

Gibraltar Tours will then take you to Europa Point, located at the southernmost point of the Rock of Gibraltar. Europa Point offers stunning views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea, you can wander around the Trinity Lighthouse, the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque and see the famous Sikorski Memorial.

From Europa Point you will have the opportunity to visit a pre-booked tour to Gibraltar’s Gorham’s Cave, a unique archaeological site located on the eastern side of the Rock of Gibraltar, believed to have been used by early humans, including Neanderthals. Evidence of their presence has been found in the form of fossils, Pottery, stone tools, and other artefacts.

After this dazzling historical experience, Gibraltar Tours will drive you up to the Upper Nature Reserve with a pit stop at the famous Pillars of Hercules, with breathtaking views of the Straits of Gibraltar, followed by the mesmerising Awakening light show at St. Michael’s Cave, and within a short drive all the way up to the highest peak of the Rock of Gibraltar where you will find the O’Hara’s Battery, a historical and cultural landmark with its iconic fortification offering a glimpse into Gibraltar’s rich history during wartime.

Close by you will experience a rush of adrenaline as you walk on to the famous Gibraltar Skywalk, a glass-bottomed platform with a sheer drop of over 400 metres to the sea below and impressive breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Along the way The Gibraltar Monkeys will pay you a visit providing you an encounter with playful and curious primates.
They are the only wild monkey population in Europe and have become a symbol of the Gibratarian region. This will be followed by a thrilling walk across the wobbly Windsor Suspension Bridge, which is one of the most popular tourist spots on the Rock, thanks to its spectacular views and adrenaline experience.

For a slightly more educational insight about the History of Gibraltar, you will visit the Great Siege Tunnels, the World War 2 Tunnels, the City Under Siege Exhibition and the Moorish Castle. To finalise your Gibraltar Tour experience, our tour guide will drive you on a 360 degree trip around the Rock capturing every piece of history, culture, and natural beauty of Gibraltar, and lastly having a relaxed walk along our famous Main Street in town, enjoying your left over free time before heading back to your own home.
