Gibraltar Tour

Our Extended Tour of Gibraltar is an extended version of our Standard Tour, as it offers two extra Gibraltar attractions which are among the most popular places to stop in Gibraltar. A 3h tour that will give you the best experience of the local culture and heritage of the Rock of Gibraltar.

Our local and bilingual tour guides will provide you with a full guided tour in English and/or Spanish, telling you all about the History of Gibraltar and the Gibraltar Attractions you will be visiting. If you do not understand any of these languages, please contact us at Gibraltar Tours, and we will see if we can make any special arrangements for you.

You will stop at Europa Point, one of the most scenic locations in Gibraltar and a popular tourist Gibraltar Attraction. Located at the southernmost point of the Rock of Gibraltar, Europa Point offers stunning views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.

Followed by The Pillars of Hercules at the very entrance of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, which have been an important landmark throughout history and the Greek mythology hero, Hercules.

As the Tour takes you further into the Upper Rock Nature Reserve you will visit St. Michael’s Cave with its Awakening Light show illuminating sculptures older than time as it walks you through the history of the Rock of Gibraltar. Following this mesmerising experience, you will enjoy the views of the east side of the Rock as you walk on a glass-bottomed platform that juts out from the top of the famous Rock of Gibraltar, offering visitors breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

You will then be introduced to the legendary Gibraltar Barbary macaques, known as the only wild monkey population in Europe. The Gibraltar Barbary macaques on the Rock of Gibraltar are famous for their unique behaviour and their close interactions with humans. However, always be aware of the recommended safety guidelines given by Gibraltar Tours, when interacting with these monkeys.
The Extended Tour of Gibraltar will allow you to immerse into the deep history of The Rock of Gibraltar, as you enter into the World War II tunnels, an underground fortress with the ability to accommodate 16,000 men as well as food supplies to last up to 1 year and a half. The World War II tunnels in Gibraltar are a fascinating and historically significant tourist attraction that offers a unique insight into the island’s wartime past.

Last stop of the Extended Tour of Gibraltar and equally impressive will be a guided visit to the Moorish Castle originally built by the Moors during their occupation of the Iberian Peninsula in the 8th century, and used as a military barracks until the 20th century, with part of the Castle having been used as the prison of Gibraltar until its relocation in 2010.

If you have any questions or would like to have more information about this Guided Tour with Gibraltar Tours guide, or any other matters related to your visit to the Rock of Gibraltar, please do not hesitate to contact us.
